May 2 marked the 80th anniversary of the birth Sergei Platonovich Dbar - a prominent statesman, legendary military leader and commander, Vice Speaker of the People's Assembly - Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia, Hero of Abkhazia, recipient of the Order of Akhdz-Apsha, I degree and the Order "For Service to the Homeland in the Armed Forces of the USSR", III degree, Lieutenant General, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Republic Abkhazia during the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia 1992-1993.
