By decree of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia, Badra Gunba, Vladimir Anua was relieved of his duties as Minister of Defense of the Republic of Abkhazia.

By decree of the Head of State, Beslan Tsvizhba was appointed Minister of Defense.

Beslan Andreevich Tsvizhba was born on March 30, 1970.

From 1988 to 1990, he served in the Soviet Army in the Volga-Ural Military District.

In 1990, he enrolled in the Faculty of History and Law of Abkhazian State University.

In January 1992, he joined the Abkhazian Guard, where he served as commander of a special forces company.

He is a participant in the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia of 1992–1993 and was awarded the Order of Leon.

From 1993 to 1994, he served as Deputy Head of the Combat Training Department of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Abkhazia.

From 1994 to 2001, he served as Head of the Air Defense Forces of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Abkhazia.

In 1998, he graduated from Abkhazian State University with a degree in History.

From 2001 to 2005, he served as Head of Air Defense and Commander of the 3rd Air Defense Division of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Abkhazia.

From 2005 to 2008, he served as Commander of the Air Defense Forces of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Abkhazia.

In 2008, he graduated from the Combined Arms Academy of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Abkhazia.

From 2008 to 2010, he served as Head of the Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Abkhazia.

Since 2010, he has served as First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Abkhazia.

In 2011, he completed training at the Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Military rank: Colonel General.

He is married and has three children.
