The head of the Sukhum City Administration, Timur Agrba, also reported on the progress of reconstruction at the site next to the monument to the Unknown Soldier. The restoration of the monument itself and the surrounding area is being financed by the Vladislav Ardzinba Sukhum International Airport.

The work will be completed by May 9, so that on Victory Day, the citizens and guests of the capital can lay wreaths and honor the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.

The working commission overseeing the embankment reconstruction is headed by Vice President Beslan Bigvava, who supervises the ongoing work. A similar inspection was recently carried out in the historic part, where archaeological excavations are being carried out.
